Bento-making Mumzilla.

Well, well, well. Who'd thought that me, Miss-lazy-to-DIY-and-hence-buy-alot Veron, would try my hands on bento-making?

I was inspired by my mummy-friend, Serene, whose son is in Primary One this year (next year will be my turn. Sobs..) and she's making lunchboxes for him to bring to school. Check out her blog for more home-cooked meal recipes.

Out of boredom one day, I Googled "bento box for kids" and Woah, a myriad of tutorials and photos popped onto my browser.
I then went to Qoo10 and bought some bento moulds and tools, and Gosh am I addicted or what!
One evening, after dropping Adam off to his abacus class, I even asked Hubby to send me to the nearest Daiso to buy more tools. I thought I had died and gone to Bento Heaven.
He thought I was insane.

Ta-dah! So many cute food picks and more, for $2 each! Including the Panda lunchbox!
The SkipHop lunchbox is about $20 if I'm not wrong.

Car bread-cutter I got from Qoo10. Sprinklers were gift favours from a friend's wedding.

I need more practice on the dusting of cocoa powder.

Fancy a Mickey bread, anyone?

How about an Animal Safari themed lunch box?

I've been making Bentos for Adam since the beginning of school term this year.
He likes it so much that he requested me to make one everyday.
Spoil my own market by having to wake up so early daily and also think of what to make *face palm*
I only make bread thus far (thank goodness not asking me to make Furikake or those complicated Rilakkuma/ panda rice!) because his school actually provides snacks like porridge or noodles on certain days.

If you're interested in making bento-boxes for your school-going child, you can get the tools from:
- Daiso
- Takashimaya basement
- Qoo10
- Meidi-ya at Liang Court

Of course there may be more resources but for a start these shops/ e-shops are more than enough to get you going :)
Say, if you have too much free time on your hands in the mornings and have nothing better to do - like me - you can try your hands on Bento-making.

Witches and little monsters get-together: Halloween playdate.

A bunch of us Mummies Witches organised a Halloween Playdate for our children. Between us, we have 10 children so can you imagine the amount of Trick or Treatin' going on!
Let's see what we had brewing in our dungeon!

Pumpkin cupcakes baked by yours truly!

We had a Wizard, Devil, Pirates (not yet pictured), Pumpkins (mine), and little Ballerinas!

Little Ballerina is angry because of the loud spooky music the boys were playing HEHEHE.
I swear if I have a daughter imma spoil her rotten!

The Pirate family!

See my Adam in the middle of the table grabbing as many treats as he could. *Mummy blushes and hides her face*

Glad that the children and adults had equal parts of fun.
Adam and Ashton had soooooo much candy that when we got home, it was time to whip out Mama's Magic Potion - Young Living DiGize, Lemon, and Grapefruit to detox, detox, detox.

Gotta send my kids to Candy Rehab for the next 2 months!

[Media invite] Erth's Dinosaur zoo coming to you at Kidsfest 2015!

Adam and Ashton have never been to any plays before. Heck, even Andy and I have never been to any plays before.
When the lovely PR people for KidsFest contacted us for the media invite, I made sure I marked my calendar.

What is KidsFest all about?
For the uninitiated, KidsFest is an annual three-week festival of world-class theatre plays for children. The productions are from all over the world, and for Erth's Dinosaur Zoo in particular, it will be their first time coming to Singapore.

Meet awesome prehistoric creatures, from cute baby dinos to some of the largest carnivores and herbivores that have ever walked the planet!
Erth's Dinosaurs come alive and are mostly friendly, except for the large predators like T-rex of course!

When is KidFest happening?
KidsFest will be coming to SOTA Drama Theatre from 21st January - 1st March 2015, with 8 plays for young people.
If you're interested in the show schedules and booking of tickets, please head on to their website:

River Safari's first Halloween kids event: Safari BOO.

Adam was excited about his and Ashton's first ever Halloween celebration this year.
In the past, with only Adam and Ashton being a baby still, we never really fancied such fads.
This year, however, we knew that River Safari is gonna hold its first Halloween A Merry-Not-Scary event for kids, so Andy & I decided to get our lazy asses off the couch and go Trick or Treatin'!

For weeks prior to today, Adam had been bugging me about the Halloween party.
He asked me what I am going as, and I thought I would go as myself - a flustered mother with her wild children is scary enough.

Kids all dressed up and raring to go.

What a crowd!

Trick or treat!

and so I went as a black cat, as per Adam's request.

The must-have for this do: Smudge-proof and water-proof liquid eyeliner from Shu Uemura, and MAC's berry-stained lipstick in "Good to be Bad"... how apt.

because I am their crazy Meowmmy and I will do anything to make them happy.

**If you missed Safari Boo's event today, you can still go on the following dates:
26 October (Sunday)
01 November (Saturday)
02 November (Sunday)

Kids go in for FREE, adult tickets are $15/pax.
Admission time: 6:00pm - 9:00pm. Last admission 8pm.

Have a Spooktacular Halloween!
