My random Friday and the exciting weekend to come

Today I finally went for my Diamond Peel & Gold facial - something which I have postponed for months because always no time.
After missing facials for so many months, cleaning up my face was a major operation!
But the end results:
my face was smoother and more radiant thanks to the Diamond micro-dermabrasion and Gold radiating mask! (Dont believe me? Click on my image to see zoom-in 100% hehe)
Best of all, it was a treat from my dear Hubby... *happy happy*
You gotta love a man who knows how to make his wife happy ;)

I miss doing all these girly pampering stuffs and how I wish I can dedicate one day of every month for some pamper-me sessions.
I've always dreamed of being a young & hip Yummy Mommy but this dream comes with a high price! I need alot of time for one, and time = $$ :P

After my facial, I went to Tampines One to shop abit and my mum called to say she bought California Baby bath pdts for her darling Grandson :)
Bubble bath and Shampoo & Bodywash. Thankyou Popo!

I need to pack Baby Kai's diaper bag and prepare all his diapers, EBM and stuff because tomorrow, Andy & I are driving up to Malacca! :D and we are leaving him in the care of Andy's parents.
We're going with Norman & Siling before she pops her baby. How exciting!
Andy is yearning for his Satay Celut (Hey C, the Satay Celut spices you bought for me turned rock le.... -__-)
The only one thing I'm sad about this trip is that I'll have to express and throw away my BM because it's not gonna last till we reach SG.
Which also made me suddenly realise - I've been BF-ding for 3 mths already! WOW

P.S. And my whacky Charmaine is flying off to BKK for shopping and then to Perth for some wind-down holiday.
I hope she has a wild time and cant wait to go Fullerton with her and the girls when she is back.
(Our Chocolate buffet date has been delayed for wayyyy too long girls!)

Okays enjoy your long weekend!

Mambo Bumbo

Have been tracking a Bumbo seat for Baby Kai for 2 weeks now.
I've called up Kiddypalace at CWP and Century Square and both outlets also OOS.
Mothercare at Tampines Mall has only 3 left, but they are pink and green :(
Baby Kingdom also doesnt have Bumbo.
Woah looks like this super infant booster seat is in high demands islandwide.

So what is so good about the Bumbo seat?

The Bumbo Baby Seat is a snug and cozy environment for your baby. This revolutionary infant chair is uniquely designed according to the baby’s posture. The Bumbo enables babies to sit upright all by themselves!
Bumbo Baby Seats are suitable for babies from as soon as they can support their own heads unaided until they can get out of the seat on their own.

award winning infant chair is manufactured to the highest safety standards from low-density foam material, which makes it lightweight and portable. It is soft and comfortable for the baby, hygienic and nontoxic. The integral outer skin of the material is durable and easy to clean.

Retails at SGD$79 at Kiddypalace (without tray), or SGD$85 at Mothercare (with tray).

Veron, Mum of Three.

I was in the room with Baby Kai when I heard the Cow toy singing "Yee ya yee ya O" so I went out to investigate and this is what I saw....

Back in the room.... the BIGGEST baby:
"Please dont ignore me Mummy"

Awww..... With a face like that, looking all teary-eyed and oh-so-sad, who would have the heart not to carry him??
So yes, I not only picked him up to carry him but I also cuddled, kissed and smothered him till he nearly went breathless.
I love you so much Baby Kai!
(and dont worry, I love you too Mavy & Alice!)

My boys

Daddy A and Baby A are enjoying some male bonding before bedtime.
Andy is giving Adam a sponge bath and getting him changed into his PJs :)

The many HAPPY faces of Adam Tan Tian Kai

This is my HAPPY bubbly Bubs when he wakes up in the mornings. He has so much zest for life and is always so happy to greet the start of a new day that it puts us lazy adults to shame Hahaha

"Good morning folks!" (see how he has deviated from his pillow Hahaha)

Water baby getting ready for his morning "swims"

After his swim in the tub, here he is going for walkies with the doggies in his new uber cool stroller :D
'cept in the photos, the dogs are nowhere to be seen because they cant wait for slowpoke Mummy to be done taking photos and have ran off on their adventures Haha

Combi Miracle Turn is really a dream to handle... I cant love it enough!
The parent-facing is brilliant, because babies feel more secure being able to see their parents.
See how much Adam is enjoying his walkies? Hehehehe

Everyday I thank God Almighty for blessing us with a healthy, cherubic baby.
Baby Adam is so happy. Happy with life, happy with the littlest things.
This teaches us - his parents - to appreciate the small things in life.
And oh, dont forget to slow down and smell the roses!

Baby Kai has a new 4WD!

from Combi

It's kinda expensive for a stroller but it is really easy to steer and I'm totally in love with it! So is Kai :D

The amazing feature is that is has 4 wheel drive for effortless steering either way (whether baby is facing front or parent).
* That's the most important thing to note when buying a stroller with reversible handles. Cos all other strollers only have front-wheel-drive so when the handle is reversed, the back wheels cannot swivel and will be a headache to maneuver.

All other features like:
- 5-point safety harness (to prevent baby from reaching forward to grab things and fall over)
- one-hand open and fold
- Egg shock cushion
- full canopy
are included.

Bye bye to Baby Kai's Red Fah-lah-li.. Welcome his new Orange Lambo!

Old Macdonald has an irresistable cowboy!

Went to the post office today to pick up my parcel from my online purchases.
I bought some Old Navy clothes and Nuby toy for Baby Adam teeheehe

Every animal will sing a different sound.. Feel like collecting all :P

Old Macdonald has a farm
Yee ya yee ya O
And on his farm he has a Cow
Yee ya yee ya O
And a Moo Moo here, and a Moo Moo there
Here Moo there Moo everywhere Moo Moo

He is pictured - Practicing his Sit. He was fixated on his new Nuby Ol Macdonald singing Farm Cow.. "moo moo here and a moo moo there"

"Hello Moo-mmy!"

Then Baby A kicked his new cow and at the same time he lost balance.... LOL!! Though he seemed very pleased with himself Hahaha Mr Silly...

And he entertained himself by staring at the ceiling and babbling... Hehe!

P.S. The weather is so HOT in Singapore that I'm tempted to let Baby A go full monty at home.. But Andy's mum objected so going sleeveless with only a diaper is not bad either.
Now he spends 24/7 in air-con room and gets his bedtime sponge-baths before bed :)

Going back to Gong-gong and Popo's house

Baby Adam is all dressed up, and looking very happy to go out :)
Though we are only going back to my parents' and nothing adventurous Hahaha my silly boy...
Thankyou Uncle Junwen for the carseat!

Did you know: It is illegal for children under the age of 8 to travel in a car in Singapore without any carseat.. so it is definitely worth investing in a good one.

But then again, all baby stuff are so expensive, what with the cool designs and lots of "added features" nowadays.. like a carseat isnt just a carseat.. it can also function as a baby carrier (albeit a heavy one!) or can fix onto stroller for infants (Quinny).
So for first-time parents like Andy & myself, we'll end up paying more for stuff which will eventually become white elephants.

Andy: Honey you're looking at strollers again! Do they upload new strollers every minute?
Me: Tsk.... I still cant make up my mind mah...
Andy: You make the whole affair seem like you're eyeing the stock market. Need to always go see meh? Then keep refreshing the page... *rolls eyes*

Dohhh.... What to do? Im torn between Combi or Maclaren... Looks vs function.
Maclaren looks super ugly lor but when I checked reviews on mummy forums most votes went for Maclaren. But then I saw Adrian Pang using Combi for the little baby girl in Nanny Daddy (Nai-pa 100%... there is a rerun of the show every weekend 4.30pm-6.30pm) I cant help but fall in love with my original love all over again...

Maybe I should buy both! Maclaren all-terrain 3-wheeler for our sporty outings to the beach or dog trainings and the chic Combi for shopping trips.

And just to share:
Fox Baby is having storewide halfpriced on all items at Marina Square.. lotsa baby jeans, pants, tees and Disney rompers.
BabyGAP was having 50% off at Vivo City outlet.. the Wisma one only 10-20% off 2nd item onwards...

Okays, gotta go sell my kidney now... Bye bye & hope you enjoyed your weekend as much as we did ours! :)

Shabu-shabu, sales, shopping, stroller!

Took the Rex out for a change.

At Sukiya... the shabu shabu very nice and reasonably priced. $15.90/pax for buffet eat-all-you-can. No service charge even though the service is really prompt and excellent. Thumbs up!

After lunch, Andy dropped me off at Takashimaya. While he went for his haircut, I did some shopping at 3rd storey of Takashimaya. It was designer children's sale everywhere, and I went to take a look at strollers and prams.. But seems like the more I compare, the more confused I became... -__-
So many functions, so many styles and colors...

And there was this "Craziest Toys Sale" at the basement atrium... which I enthusiastically dived into hehe.

I was shoved around by over-zealous kids from all directions left, right, centre, below.... Yes below my waist I mean! The kids just zipped around the whole place scouring for toys.
I also did not bad, I managed to find some toys for Kai Kai as well HEHEHE *mega grin*

After half an hour inside the sea of kids and parents, I was too tired to move a muscle so I sat at the fountain in front of Anne's pretzels to wait for Andy... and also to people-watch.
I ogled shamelessly at parents who pushed their strollers past, practically STARING at the brands.
As I see the different models of strollers and colors, I could feel my lust for the Combi stroller rising.

Its features include:
- one hand open-and-fold
- super lightweight at only 4.2kg
- reversible handle for child to face front or to face parent
- front auto swivel wheel
- Egg Shock cushion
- 5-point safety harness
- mesh seat for ventilation

And sorry to sound superficial, but I'm TOTALLY IN LOVE with the wide range of colors to choose from which are damn nice lor. I'm spoilt for choice!
I finally shortlisted either the yummy brown color or the trendy grey. Both looks equally good with only slight differences.
Didnt buy it today like I intended because I cannot make up my mind :P
As for Kai's current Baby Ace stroller, because it's a gift from Aunty Christine so maybe we'll use it as a spare one.

Quiet Monday

It's a quiet Monday for us today.
The dogs are well behaved. I even did a round of Obedience with Mavy and he actually remembers all his commands and did a pretty darn good Recall, if I may say so myself.
I cant wait to get back to training with Mavy again.

Baby Adam is a mellow fellow today too, thank goodness. Because if he werent, I wont have the energy to deal with him either.. I am still suffering the repercussions of our insane weekend, and went about the whole day doing things in half steam. zzzzZZzz

He is a good boy, entertaining himself on his Disney play gym.

Crazy Sunday

Woke up at 6.45am and was out of the house by 8.30am, with a huge Neverfull filled with baby essentials and a sleepy Kai Kai in tow.
Poor baby but no choice cos our weekends are a mad rush everywhere with everyone wanting a piece of our 牛仔 (Cowboy)!

First it was to my house to visit my Grandma and Aunt LY (great-grandmother and grand aunt).
Then it was back home for Cowboy to rest because he had dinner appointment with his other great-grandma (Andy's grandmother).

[ But in between so many things happened.
First, Andy's Dad called to say Alice squeezed through our gate and ran away. Then he went to find her with Mavy the kaypo tagging along.
And then fatefully, Mavy was excited when he saw our Australian uncle neighbour who was incidentally, very friendly and wanted to play with him but didnt know how strong Mavy is so when Mavy jumped on that poor old man who has had a CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Graft) done, that really scared the SHIT out of him.
Then we got home and went over to his house to apologise.
But again, before reaching home we nearly got into an accident which would have flung our Cowboy from the back towards the windscreen had I not been breastfeeding him at the backseat because of the heavy traffic and some Muther-#$*%$* was weaving in and out of lanes.
I was really scared out of my wits and shudder to think what might have happened. I mean, there's really no saying "should have" or "what if" because accidents are accidents and if it's meant to happen it will happen. Right? And it's not like we didnt observe road safety to begin with... Sigh... what a scare. And what a DRAMA MAMA chain of events! ]

By 9pm I'm totally FLAT... . .. zzzzZZZzz.
Maybe next week we should all order pizza home delivery and have ALL the people who want to see Kai Kai, come to see Kai Kai. Yeah I think that would be a great idea.

牛仔很忙! (Cowboy is very busy!)

Happy Saturday!

I'm really excited that the weekend is finally here!
What a busssyyyy week for us leh... with Baby A and spending the whole week keeping our appointments. Met our financial planner twice lor!
But finally we settled our investments and Baby A's insurance plans. (Heaves a huge sigh of relief!)

So today, being Saturday, Andy was a good Daddy who woke up early to bathe Baby A and we left him in Andy's mum's care while we went Vivo City (again) for shopping.
I'm really thankful to have sucha wonderful MIL who is competent in caring for Baby A and best of all she doesnt mind and in fact enjoys spending time with him.
Aint I lucky to have my Mum, Andy's mum and Aunt LY to help me out with our Little Rascal :) Time to plan for Princess Valentina? muaahahahaha~ just kidding

Okays back to shopping at Vivo City.. Yes I love going to Vivo City because it's so family-friendly (read: Many baby stores :P )
Bought some MORE BabyGAP tees and pants for Baby A again, and bought some clothes for us too.

This is my favourite of today's shopping loot! :

Ultimate Frisbee Champ

Yes, without a doubt my baby will grow up to be Ultimate Frisbee & Dogsports trainer like his Mummy and Daddy haha

Back to the topic...

This is Baby A dressed up for dinner with Ah Gong and Ah Ma.

Looking Ah Beng in his red color Fah-lah-li. Manual transmission somemore - by his parents. Ahem.

Baby Adam is going on 12weeks (3mos) old now and I think every parent knows what the Terrible Threes mean!

He doesnt sleep lor! He is so wide awake and wants to explore everything in his vision field.
He gets bored of being in his rocker for too long (long being, 15min??).. and he got tired of his musical mobile bears in his cot.

And because he cannot walk or crawl yet, he demands to be carried everywhere and wants to be part of everything I do. Like this morning, I had to put him on our bed while I changed the bedsheets.
It's hard to get anything done and thankfully Andy's mum is doing all the other chores so I just have to devote my 200% attention on Baby Adam. *sweat*

I hate hammocks or the yao lan because it makes the house looks unglam but in my desperate attempt to make him get some shut-eye during the day so I can jolly well do my own things, I have no choice.
I dont know if it's the rhythmic rocking motion that's hypnotising him but who cares?
Yes I am really desperate.

Ok to be fair to him, he does sleep. At night. After his bedtime feed at 10pm-11pm, he will sleep till 9am the next morning and only wake up once at 4am for milk.
He wont fuss and will just sleep throughout, which is some comfort.

Well I guess I just have to be even more sleepless than I already am, and hope that he will outgrow this phase when he is old enough to entertain himself with toys.

The precious weekend just came and went

Bought some fabric books for our precious Kai Kai which has Discovery Farm, 123 ABC and Zoo animals, and also a Baby Einstein teething ring.

When we got home, Andy & I read the books to our little one and though he didnt understand, he was captivated by the bright colors and pictures.

We also finally collected his Calligraphy brush from KKH...

It has his Chinese name and birthdate engraved on it, as well as two verses which say:
which means "The fabled roc flies ten thousand miles" or in other words, "one's future is brilliant"

Okays, enough of the are some updates about Adam's parents... ahem..

Andy plans to drive up to KL one of these weekends.
He intends to take our Little Red Turbo Car for her last roadtrip and burn some tyres on the Sepang tracks before we buy a new car.
This is another sign that we are moving on to the next chapter of our lives. We need a more baby-friendly car because LRTC has rock-hard suspensions which send the car bouncing and going "ging gong ging gong" even when she goes over the slightest tar strips and sends Baby Adam's milk purging out of his mouth and it drives me insane to see my baby throwing up.

But but, we havent decided which car to buy yet and we also need to plan which weekend to go on the road trip, which we are taking forever to do... so... until then....

And also, I didnt ask for it, but Andy has allowed me to be a SAHM!
The other night we were talking about Adam's addiction to my breast and how precious he is to us.
Actually the conversation went like this:
Andy: Honey, look how much he wants to latch on. How can you bear to deny him of your breasts?
Me: But he just took 90ml of breast milk from the bottle and he just wants to latch on for comfort... What will happen when I go back to work? Your mum will die.
Andy: Then you just take no pay leave and stay at home and look after him lor... I will give you allowance what. And your part of housing loan, I pay lor... Ok?

WOW me so happy to hear those words from my Hubby leh! hehehe
I'm practically floating and I immediately have mental images of me and Adam doing so many fun things together, exploring his growing up milestones and of me sending Andy to work and fetching him home from work.
The best part is, I dont have to do housework or cook meals because Andy's mum will be doing that.
Then she will have more free time to do her stuff too - like hanging out with her market aunty friends and chatting on the phone every noon.
The housework will be done, every member of the family fed, and Adam will have his mummy to take care of him. Isnt that a brilliant plan? HEHEHE :)

Baby Adam at Play

Baby Adam amusing himself with his musical bears. I'm glad the bears entertained him for a good one hour so I could EBM and do some stuff like practice my photo-taking skills!
He batted the bears happily and when they moved, he coo-ed and seemed to be mighty pleased with himself!

It's the Aussino sales.. and I can smell the weekend drawing closer and closer.
It's gonna be another of those busy weekends for us, shuttling to the grandparents' place and doing some shopping.
Things to do:
- Buy soft books for Adam
- Toys for Adam
- Picture cards to stick on the wall beside his cot
- Buy new sheets for Adam and us
- Go to Vivo City to check out Fox Baby, GAP and Mothercare and do even more shopping
- Meet our insurance agent to work out an insurance & savings plan for Adam

Very busy indeed!!
