Clip 'n Climb at Our Tampines Hub - Rock and wall climbing for the family.

This evening, our plan to visit Gardens by the Bay was foiled by wet weather, so we made a last minute decision to go to the all new Our Tampines Hub instead.

My objective was to find an activity were all of us young & old can participate, unlike the usual children-centred indoor playgrounds where adults had to sit out the fun for the few hours, therefore Clip 'n Climb seemed like a good choice.
About clip 'n Climb Singapore:

HomeTeamNS is the first to bring in the New Zealand born Clip 'n Climb into Singapore.
It is an action-packed revolutionalized climbing theme park catered for climbers for all ages*.
The facility features 19 exciting, colourful climbing challenges with different levels of difficulties for all levels of climbers.

* Children should be at least 10kg to climb.

At the entrance, we were contemplating whether to take up the Savers package which entitled us to 10 climbs, or to just pay ala carte.
The female staff at the reception was so kind to let us go in to play first, and said if our children enjoyed the activity, then we could decide to sign up for the Savers package.
Kudos to her, such flexible and accomodating service employees are few and far between!
Lockers are available for use free-of-charge.

Armed with just my camera, we are ready to Rock!

Be sure to dress in comfortable attire and covered / sports shoes.

There will be guides around the facility who will help you with tightening the harness and teaching you the right way to securing the carabiners.

Before you climb, shout "Check me!" for the instructors to check that you are properly fastened.
And before you descend, make sure there is nobody below you and shout "Watch out!"

The number of clicks indicate the level of difficulty.

This is my favourite station! It allows your partner to climb in tandem with you.
In my case, it serves as a motivation to our children to keep going.

None of us reached the peak I must confess. But I am proud of Adam and Ashton for being game enough to attempt climbing all the stations, YES even the most difficult ones!
Benefits of rock-climbing include improving physical and mental endurance, and for us, it is just important that our children challenge themselves and be an improved version of themselves at the end of the experience.

The boys had immediately spotted the Laser Quest facility upon our arrival, which was just next to Clip & Climb, and said they would go for Laser Quest the next visit :)

*Safe for 8yo and above or minimu height 1.1m.

Phuket November 2016 - Go-Karting and Upside Down House.

Good morning Phuket! I love your lovely weather.
I shower 3x a day, my kids and I have sand in every crevice of our bodies, but no complains because it beats having our plans cancelled by wet weather.

Traveling with in-laws is always a good idea.
Whenever the big kid gets too difficult to handle, I can always hand him back to his parents :D

On our last day here, we checked out and went for Go-Karting.

Actually, Adam had wanted to drive his own kart but the staff advised us otherwise.
"No insurance!", and he pointed to the "damaged parts price list" pasted on the wall.

Better not risk it!
Perhaps when we next return, Adam.

After Go-Karting, our next destination was the Upside Down House.
It's apparently on the Top-five places to visit in Phuket, why haven't we been there before?!

BAAN TEELANKA

Behind the Upside Down House lies a 100 sqm garden maze, which our boys insisted on going into.

It is designed by Adrian Fisher, the world's most acclaimed maze designer.

Here comes my Alice in Wonderland moment!

Adam is already running ahead of us, wanting to  beat us in solving the maze.

So long, Upside Down House!
It had been fun posing with all your quirkily-designed furniture layout.
