{Travel Tuesday} Roadtrip to Queensland, Australia. PART 1.

PART 1: Getting from Brisbane Airport to Sunshine Coast, then to Gold Coast.
Free-and-easy road trip.

In 2015, for the Jubilee long weekend in August National Day, our family flew to Queensland for a holiday.
We travelled to many places in 2015 because that is the last time we can jet off on a whim before Adam starts Primary school.
This trip is super backdated because I had made the photos into a coffee-table album and didn't have the energy to repeat another story about it!
Until now that is!

As for most flights with the kids, we took the redeye flight and landed in Brisbane in their morning.
The minute we touched down at Brisbane airport, we could feel the chilly winds on our skin and we had to quickly layer up with our parkas and bomber jackets.
Once we settled our car rental, we drove to PYO (pick-your-own) Strawberry Fields in Sunshine Coast, Qlds.
Our itinerary was to drive from Sunshine Coast to Gold Coast.

*In order not to make a wasted trip, please check out their website for the season!

Palmview, QLD, 4553
Exit 190 off Bruce Highway.

It was a HUGE farm which wasn't populated. In fact, there were only a couple more families besides ours.
Lots of opportunities to pick big, juicy strawberries without bumping into others.

The strawberries were just hanging out, shouting for us to pick them!

Adam and Ashton had their own punnets each and needless to say, the rest of our 1 week road trip were filled with strawberry nimbles along the way!

After having the strawberries and some toast at their cafe for breakfast, we made our way to our rental apartment to offload and unpack for the rest of the week.

They say the destination doesn't matter half as much as the journey, and yes whoever said that was right.
Along the way, we stopped by a lovely field with rows and rows of pine trees, and stopped by Sirromet Winery for a scrumptious alfresco lunch amidst wildlife, wallabies and a friendly Kookaburra who watched over our food for scraps.

The pine cones were large, and they were free, unlike the scrawny ones we have for sale in Singapore during Christmas.

We then reached Sirromet Winery for our lunch.
Kids and adults are all hungry after the long drive with stops in between for scenary and photo-taking!

The wild wallabies were cautious so I had to leopard-crawl and hide behind flowers and bushes just to get some decent photos of them!
ZOMG. *sweat*

Nice audience we have for lunch :)
Hello Kookaburra!

Reached our rented house, Riviera Waters at Broadbeach.
Address: 8 Merrimac Blvd, Gold Coast QLD 4218, Australia.

4 bedroom waterfront property with lots of room for 2-3 families.
I think this home is especially good for doing trips with your own family, parents plus in-laws.
Or even a bunch of friends.
