New Mummy bag

Bought me a new bag not too long ago. Despite using it quite a lot and the fact that I don't baby my bags anymore simply because I have no time to, it has proved to me that it is worth every cent I pay for anything H.

It still holds up well even though I trash it around and am not very careful with it since there's always a pint-sized terror zipping around. And so far no stains or rubbing of the Clemence leather.

A busy Mummy definitely needs hands-free bags!

  1. Hi Veron, I am thinking of buying the evelyn bag to be used as a diaper bag. Does the leather hold well? is it low maintainence?

  2. Hi Anon, thanks for dropping by my blog and Congrats on being a Mummy :)

The Evelyne is a great casual bag & one that can take a beating (I always throw mine around and not careful with it unlike my Chanels which the quilts require so much pampering).

However, due to its slim shape it doesnt hold very much. Therefore if yours is a toddler which requires only minimum items when going out, you can still use this bag.
If yours is a new baby and you need to lug around your whole nursery, then buy the Hermes Garden Party instead! It's about the same price for full leather Garden party.

Hope that helps and happy shopping :)

  3. Hi Veron.

Thanks so much for replying so promptly. My son is around 2 years old. Can the evelyn fit in a water bottle, couple of diapers, some snack, socks and spare clothes? It looks rather flat to put in a water bottle. My son is a water monster, has to bring the water bottle wherever we go.

I am not a fan of garden party. Currently using the herbag as a diaper bag.. and gets so frustated with the opening... !!

  4. Hi, I know right! The buckle of the Herbag makes it sucha b*tch to get in and out of. And Im not too happy that it's fabric. Not very toddler-proof.

Yes the Evelyne can fit in a 500ml water bottle cos that's a must-have everywhere I go as well. And yeap can fit in those other stuff you mentioned. Get the Evelyne GM III. It has an extra pocket at the back for you to put your wallet and hp, which GM I and II doesnt hv.

  6. Hi veron. I scored the evelyne pm III in blue Lin. The sa say the new range all comes with the back pocket.Gm III in etoupe looks incredibly big though the color looks tempting. Can't wait to use it.

  7. hihi, Congrats on your new H bag! Is Blue Lin a very pale cornflower blue??

will you be worried about dirtying/ jeans color transfer?

Enjoy your new bag and carry it in good health! :)

  8. blue lin looks greyish blue in picture and baby blue in real life.

I seldom wear jeans so think wun color transfer.
It looks great with neutrals. I " shorten" the strap to make it into a shoulder bag to be carried on casual work days.

    1. I shorten the strap too , with a Twilly :) becos the cross-body look only for casual weekends.

PM can fit all your boy's barangs?
Or else, just get him a little backpack for him to carry his own things when going out Hahahah *evil mum*

    2. a great idea for him to carry his stuff himself. * wink
can fit in most of his stuff , most importantly his water bottle.but will not be adequate as an overnight bag though.
GM size is good but too big for my petite frame. Asethetics triumph over practicality as usual. LOL

No twilly at the hermes store the last i went... trying to find a blue based one to match the blue lin. The colorful ones seem too overwhelming for the neutral shade.
