Bed browsing

In between my hectic schedule and the weekend, we managed to squeeze in some furniture browsing.
Went to different places to try their beds etc.. and Kai took the honour of testing the bounce factor of the mattresses.

After breaking a vase at Simmons showroom and running into Robin Leong & his partner bed-testing, and all the hooha of sweeping the showroom floor, we kinda decided that we want this!

Bling bling bedframe with hydrolic storage facility and soft mattress with plush pillow-top.

Okays gotta go!
In classic Aussie fashion, it's POETS Day (piss off early tomorrow's Saturday)!
It's Gymboree, picking up our newly arrived Martello, going around browsing more furniture and family time :)

Ciao people!
V. yummy mummy.

GSS Shopping~

Can't wait for our KL trip, Andy & I went to do some GSS shopping for Baby Adam and our new pad.

More board book for Adam's bed time reading

Bright-colored and (quite) destruction proof

Some long-sleeved clothes for KL trip.

Our new toy from Robinson's: a Martello gourmet coffee machine! in Fire-engine RED

came with many freebies such as the frother, lots of free coffee capsules and a capsule display-box.

We saw the demo by the sales rep and were sold. Really cool lah!
I'm gonna learn how to make heart-shaped froth like the below picture for our guests.

Imagine popping by our place for some nice gourmet cuppa, relaxing on our outdoor lounge set and talking cock or simply reading magazines. Cool ain't it?

Next on our to-buy list includes furniture for our "Little Prince's Room":
- Easel (using the vouchers from my sisters Meena & Charm)
- Mammut bookshelf
- Little Tikes Roadster toddler bed

Now I can't stop thinking of buying furniture for our new home. Bank-breaking but fun! :D

Baby Expo 30 April - 02 May 2010

Venue: Singapore Expo, Hall 4A
Dates: 30 April Friday - 02 May 2010 Sunday
Time: 11am - 9pm daily.

Took leave, and went with Aunty Meena & her sis-in-law Jothi on the 1st day of the Baby fair to get her last-minute baby-shopping done. I woke up early and fed/watered/bathed Baby Kai, and we took a 10min drive to Expo. Living in the East rocks!

We all arrived at 11am, and did our shopping inside. I let Baby Kai play on the Evenflo exersaucers, but as I expected, he doesnt enjoy them very much. Baby Kai isn't really into toys. He enjoys interaction and using his hands. Then we moved on to every booth and sniffed out good buys like hounds on narcotics.

Now, what good deals did we aunties-and-a-baby snag?
There was a booth selling really cheap and authentic Carters bibs, Carters rompers and Korean baby clothes. Bought 1 sleeper pants with dog-print for only $10! Carters bibs went 3 for $10, and rompers 5 for $20.
Also bought a Pigeon Mag Mag sippy for Kai.

So kawaii!

Aunty Meena's NUK loot and Moo Moo Kow cloth diapers, a cheaper alternative to Bumwear. 3 pc covers + 6 inserts for only $85.

I felt the BEST buy for the day was this Combi Miracle Turn DX lightweight stroller for only $566! RRP is $629. With this purchase, a Combi bath seat is thrown in for FREE. What a steal right!

"Mummy can I climb onto the chair?" My lil rascal has upgraded to climbing furniture at home. After his breakfast (and before we left the house) when I was doing the dishes, he climbed onto the coffeetable and grinned at me when I emerged from the kitchen.
-__-"

After the baby fair, I sent Meena and Jothi home and brought Baby Kai to my mum's, where we went to Causeway Point for Yakun kaya toast and more shopping at Kiddy Palace.
By dusk, Baby Kai & I were sticky, oily and sweaty but we enjoyed ourselves so much. One of the rare times where I wasn't working and could spend 24hours with my darling munchkin. Life is bliss :)

Baby gate

Havent had time to update for our weekend that just passed. Have we been missed? :P

Remember I said Andy won 3rd prize in 4D? So we brought Baby Kai to Kiddy Palace at Century Square, and everytime we go there, he's greeted by his favourite sales assistant.
He put Baby Kai onto a HUGE motor horse, but Baby Kai doesnt like it!

In the end...

we bought a safety gate for him instead. Seems like it's high time we installed one, cos he is getting around the house really fast!

Kate Spade Henry diaper bag

I've always wanted a Kate Spade diaper bag, and when my trusty babyish-looking one gave way, it gave me good excuse to splurge on a new one.
It may appear small, but it's actually quite roomy, with 2 side pockets for milk bottles, and an interior zippered compartment large enough to put my handphone and wallet, and 2 interior patch pockets to put Kai's utensil set and another bottle.

I like the matching changing mat and its functionality without compromising style and looks.
I've yet to come across any designer who does diaper bags that are affordable on the wallet and eye-candy at the same time.
This is The quintessential diaper bag for all fashionista mommies *thumbs up*

2 of my favouritest

Went to Resort World with 2 of my favouritest people in this world.
What a tiring day it was, and to prove myself wrong - my red stilettos are not made for walking!

Hershey Chocolate World

Shopping at SG's 1st ever VS outlet

VS loot!

After all that feet-abusing, we headed to Vivo City for lunch, where we were joined by Uncle Ramesh... Afterwhich, Andy brought me to get my diamonds - dangling Chanel CC earrings and a pendant. Now this Happy camper needs to wait 3 weeks ^__^

D-Day

I'm too excited to sleep. Partly because I'll be going to Resort World with my sista Meena tomorrow for some girly good time, and also because the Hubby will be bringing me to get my DIAMONDS done. *bling bling*

Chanel diamond dangling earrings and a new diamond pendant. I can't wait!
Just in time for: Mother's Day 9 May 2010, and Kai's first birthday party ^__^

Robinsons Members Sale this weekend

It's every woman's favourite word - S A L E !
At Robinsons Centrepoint this weekend. For shopaholic mummies like myself, it is not to be missed, even more so if you are a member because of the discounts on top of usual discounts. How great is that? DOn't know where to go this long weekend? Head down to Robinsons Centrepoint then ;)

I went with Aunty Meena and she went crazy with all the newborn sleepsuits, booties, mittens. How reminiscent of those days when Baby Kai was still a newborn!
And oh, I love their Eath Baby organic bath product range as well and I bought a few bottles to stock up.

Check out Baby Kai's new toys. He seems delighted! Thanks to my colleague Jenny who recommended the Aqua Doodle which leaves no mess after water ink dries up :)

Busy baby and the busy bodies!

Last but not least, I wanted to buy this Little Tikes coupe car but it was too bulky & heavy for me to lug home on my own. Sigh! :(

This is officially on Baby Kai's BIRTHDAY WISHLIST. Can some kind soul please buy it for him? :P

For being good

For being a wonderfully behaved boy over the weekend and this morning, Mummy splurged a little on United Colors of Benetton tees & a pair of Osh Kosh shoes for my Darling son :)

I can't believemy Baby is turning into a Toddler soon! He can wear shoes meant for tods! *sniff sniff* *dabs eyes*

Well, the past coupla weeks have been rough - Andy's grandma wasn't feeling too good and Andy's mum had to bring Adam over to the Grandma's to look after her.
As a result, the chores at home weren't done, Adam wasn't rested, and everyone was e x t r e m e l y frustrated and exhausted!
I was late for work almost everyday for about 30min, the only day I wasn't late was I think Wednesday. Then the following week I was still dead beat, and I took 1 day MC - again.
Andy was sleep-deprived, MIL was overworked, my boss was angry, I was cranky, Adam was irritable.
Yeah, you get the drift.

So well, anyway, this weekend that just passed was beautiful *touch wood* Phew.
We didn't go out on Sunday and just stayed home to recuperate.
Adam didn't wake up in the middle of the night to scream and demand to sleep on our bed.
I got my beauty sleep and wasn't late for work this morning.
and and and... The new maid is coming.

I just hope it stays this way cos next week I'm having classes again!

Takashimaya Baby Fair

EVENT: Taka Baby Fair
VENUE: Takashimaya Atrium near the fountain
DATES: 11 Mar - 28 March 2010

Went there with Meena and our men in tow.
It was crowded as expected, and we went to check out the baby monitors, carseats, and s t r o l l e r s.
I had every intention to buy a lightweight one, either from Aprica or Combi.
I love Aprica's pretty designs, but I had to face it - even its 4-swivel wheel stroller can't beat the Combi Miracle Turn in terms of functionality, because Combi MT has auto-lock of wheels, whichever way your stroller is facing: parent- or front-facing.

But Daddy A wasn't too keen on another stroller for Baby A.
Andy: He has been through 4 strollers (Baby Ace, Combi, Maclaren, Bugaboo) even before he turned 8 months old. How many strollers do you wanna buy? You just bought the Bugaboo so why does he need another one?

I am not a spendthrift. I just tend to pamper Baby A, often too much.
Sometimes I think men really have no idea. Hmmph. I should've just left him at home while I went with Meena. So anyhow, we left the fair without buying anything except for wetwipes.

And since we're on the topic of fairs, I think some parents are just so inconsiderate.
It was insanely crowded, but we were lucky enough to find a bench just outside the parameters of the fair so I sat down to feed Baby A his lunch while Andy went to buy some finger food.
While waiting for Andy to come back, another Mom with 2 toddlers came and sat down at what was supposed to be Andy's seat.
I was gracious enough to let them have the seat but that stupid mother didn't even have the brains to discipline her chicldren. Her 2 kids were trying to climb onto the bench and nearly kicked and toppled Baby A's drink and food. GRRRRR!!
Without hesitation, I scolded the mother to be careful with her children.

I mean, if someone was kind enough to let me have a seat in a super-crowded mall, I would be more than grateful and make sure Adam doesn't misbehave. Isn't that common sense?

Some parents are just overtly concerned about having a place in top schools, sending them for enrichment classes they don't enjoy, shouting orders after orders at their poor children to "Sit still and don't move can?", "Stand properly can anot! I cannot see lah!" (yes that was what I witnessed of a mother shoe-shopping for her daughter and the girl stood with one leg slightly behind the other), "Don't sit on the floor dirty!" and Dont-do-this-dont-do-that.
And these are the same kind of parents who can't even speak proper English in a single sentence and they wanna send their kids to top schools...( "This one not your one you don't take I tell you hor") yet they don't bother to teach their children basic things like consideration, manners, kindness to animals and humility.

Ok, enough ranting already. Don't wanna ruin my precious weekend :)
Ciao folks!

Baby Kai goes shopping...

... at IKEA!

My Mum, her friend and I spent 4 friggin' hours at IKEA Tampines! What a good way to spend my leave.
Baby Kai enjoyed it thoroughly, and as expected, we spent a huge portion of our time stuck at the Children's section and the cafe.
The tiny bed sets and everything else looks so delectable! Can't wait for our new home to be ready so we can start buying the cute cars & tracks carpet, matching theme bedsheets and more.

At the end of our shopping, amongst every big and small purchase, we also bought a huge toybox for the Lil Monster :)

What I love is the changeable fabrics and canopy which allows you to customise your own Bugaboo.
We're gonna use this all-terrain buggy for our road trip to Melbourne in Feb 2010. *beams*

Saying Goodbye...

... is the hardest thing to do in the mornings when I have to leave my peacefully sleeping Angel, for work.

To be honest, I've been back to work for 1.5 months now and there isn't a day that passes where I don't wish I can stay home to be with my baby.So contradicting, I know. When I was at home, I grumbled about being a frumpy Housewife. Now that I'm back at work, I wish I can go back to being a frumpy housewife :)

Anyway, this are Baby A's pressies for Xmas 2009, which we bought over the last weekend in town.

I wonder what other presents Baby A will get for his FIRST X'mas.
I guess there isnt much a 6-month-old Baby would want other than his parents to be around him all day :)
